Products manufactured by Hakko Corporation for sale into the European Union (EU) are marked in accordance with EU Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment, which became European law in February 2003. Replacement parts and consumable items for these products are exempt from the marking requirement in accordance with the directive.
