General FAQs

NOTE: This information applies to FS-100 manufactured before September 2014. The DOM format has been changed to numbers indicating manufacturing month and year on products September 2014 and forward. Please Note FS-100 manufactured after October 4th 2021 will now include the date of manufacturing in numerical form on the top of the tin rather than the bottom side for readability purposes .

The DOM (Date of Manufacture) for the Hakko FS-100 Tip Polishing Paste manufactured on or before September 2014 is marked on the bottom of each container using a 2 letter code.

The first letter corresponds to the production year. For example...

  • A equals years that end in 1
  • B equals years that end in 2
  • C equals years that end in 3

... and so on.

The second letter corresponds to the production month. For example...

  • A equals the month of January
  • B equals the month of February
  • C equals the month of March

... and so on.

NOTE: The letter 'I' is not used for either year or month marking due to readability issues.
