How can I identify Hakko ceramic heaters?

Most HAKKO ceramic heaters have identifying numbers printed on the ceramic material toward the rear of the heating element near the point where the leads attach to the heater. The following is a reference list of heating element marks and the HAKKO irons where the element is used:

Heater Mark -> HAKKO Iron/Handpiece

  • 320 -> DASH (N452) and FX-950 [15W]
  • 220 -> DASH (N453) [20W]
  • 151 -> DASH (N454) [25W]
  • 071 -> MACH (918, 920, 921, 922, 924)
  • 067 -> 455
  • 050, 050-1, and 050-2 -> 456
  • 003 -> 900S, 900M, 900L, 907, 908, 951, 952, 958, 959, FX-8801, FX-8802, FX-8803, FX-8804, FX-8805 (Including ESD versions)
  • 002 -> 800L Desoldering Gun (700C) [60W]
  • 260 -> 96, 96-1 Solder Pots and PRESTO Irons (980, 981) [3-wire heaters]
  • 068 -> 950 Hot Tweezers
  • 482 -> 481/484 Desoldering Tool [220-230VAC]
  • 850 -> PRESTO Irons [3-wire heaters at 220-230VAC]
  • 061 -> 483 Desoldering Tool [100VAC]
  • 052 -> FX-600 and FX-601
