FS-100 TSCA Information


American Hakko Products manufactures all HAKKO and CHP brand products and parts in accordance with the most recent (TSCA) inventory list published ( February,08,2021) by the EPA as part of the ( TSCA) " Toxic Substances Control Act". The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) of 1976 provides EPA with authority to require reporting, record-keeping and testing requirements, and restrictions relating to chemical substances and/or mixtures. Certain substances are generally excluded from TSCA, including, among others, food, drugs, cosmetics, and pesticides.

 

Hakko's FS-100 is exempt from PMN reporting under the (TSCA) due to the following guidelines as provided by the EPA.

 1. FS-100 does not release the chemical substance intentionally.

 2. When using FS-100 as the product burns the by-product produced is a combustion product

Combustion products, such as a candle that produces smoke when burned are exempt from PWM.

The FS-100 contains the following "5" substances. Substances 1-3 can be found in the most recently published version of the TSCA.

 

** NOTE ** Substances 4 and 5 aren't included in the TSCA inventory therefore they are considered " New Chemical substances " 

 

1.Tin powder -CAS no.7440-31-5

2.Flux paste -CAS no.8009-03-8

3.Solid paraffin - CAS no.8002-74-2

4. Alicyclic amine hydrobromate

5.Aliphatic amine hydrobromate
