Why does my DPF-300 F1 fuse keep blowing?

General FAQs

UPDATE: PLEASE SEE PB474 CONCERNING A SPECIFICATION CHANGE FOR THE DPF-300 FUSES FOR F1 AND F4.

There could be several reasons why this fuse is blowing.

First, check to see that there is no debris in the milling bit. To do this, take off the guide and head. Rotate the milling bit to see if it can turn freely. If it is not moving freely, clear any debris that is in the milling bit. There is a spacer in the milling bit. Do not take this spacer out.

If that is not the case then the unit will have to be opened. A new fuse will need to be installed in order to perform the following procedure.

     1) To do this, get a M4 hex wrench and unscrew the 3 screws holding the front panel on.

     2) Turn the disconnect switch Q1 to the on position.

     3) Turn the unit on by pushing the green on button located on the front panel.

     4) Immediately after turning the unit on hit the red STOP button on the inverter control(picture below). To access this you will need to open the cover to the inverter control.

     5) Press the white wheel on the inverter control once.

     6) Rotate the wheel until you see COnF and press the white wheel.

     7) Rotate the wheel until you see ACC on the display and press the white wheel.

     8) Change the value on the display to 3.0 by rotating the white wheel. HOLD the white wheel for 2 seconds.

     9) Rotate the white wheel until the display shows dEC and press the white wheel.

     10) Change the value on the display to 2.0 by rotating the white wheel. HOLD the white wheel for 2 seconds.

     11) Hit ESC two times.

     12) Power off the unit from the disconnect switch Q1 by rotating it counterclockwise to the 9'o-clock position.
