My Hakko tip has a "#" mark on the package. What does it mean?

It means that the tip is lead-free compatible.
During the establishment of lead-free standards and symbols by RoHs, a "#" symbol was put on the packages of some Hakko tips before the implementation of new warning label indicating lead-free:
Tips with "#" mark are: T7 series, 900 series, Dash and Presto tips from November of 2004 to January of 2005.
The "#" mark has now been replaced by RoHs compliance symbol and the Hakko green project symbol.
