Chris Stuber
Soldering

The following are the standard TIN numbers and equivalent offsets for Composite Tips and Nozzles:

  • T15 Series - TIN 03 / Offset 015°F
  • T9 Series - TIN 03 / Offset 015°F
  • T16 Series - TIN 07 / Offset 035°F
  • N3 Series - TIN 25 / Offset -25°F

In mid-2007...

  • All T7 Series tips began manufacturing with a common TIN of 03 to ensure a minimum temperature accuracy of ±15°C/±27°F.  There are some T7/T15 Series tips that due to their shape and mass, the best temperature accuracy attainable without use of offset is ±25°C/±45°F.
  • All T8 Series tips begain manufacturing with a common TIN of 07 to ensure a minimum temperature accuracy of ±15°C/±27°F.
  • All N1 Series nozzles began manufacturing with a common TIN of 25 to ensure a minimum temperature accuracy of ±15°C/±27°F.

NOTE:  If a user has disabled the Process Gate on their Hakko FM-202 and set the stadard offset of 015°F for using T15 Series tips...

  • and switches to an FM-2022 handpiece, the minimum temperature accuracy is ±25°C/±45°F unless the offset is changed to 035°F.
  • and switches to an FM-2024 handpiece, the offset is reset to 000°F.  An offset of -25°F is requried for a minimum temperature accuracy of ±15°C/±27°F.
